Ladies and gentlemen, time for the only bowl game that matters, the FedEx Orange Bowl. Some berated the matchup, but with automatic tie-ins between the ACC and Big East, we get Virginia Tech, who lost in last year’s Orange Bowl in Glennon-esque fashion, and Cincinatti, who came out of nowhere to win the Big East.

The nation and sports pundits are picking Cincinatti, but I think in the end, Virginia Tech will wind up squeaking by. The reason is the new focus on winning bowl games (what an outlandish concept, I know!) that Tech coach Frank Beamer has emphasized, which focuses on earlier and more-often practice and early game-planning.
